Methodology
This analysis tracks corporate naming patterns related to the cryptocurrency bubble by analyzing company filing data from the SEC.
Key methodology details:
- Data is sourced from the SEC's company filing metadata
- Companies with crypto terms must have "BLOCKCHAIN", "CRYPTO", or "BITCOIN" as standalone words in their names
- The detection is case-insensitive (e.g., "Blockchain" and "BLOCKCHAIN" are both counted)
- Daily counts track companies that had any of these terms in their name on each specific date
- The day a company changes its name is excluded from the count
- All data is updated daily through an automated process
